Undo your actions

Prior to this release (Corporate Modeler 10), undo was only operational if you were editing the text descriptions in any of the object properties dialogs, or if you were changing the layout of connectors on your diagrams.

Users of Corporate Modeler can now "Undo" and "Redo" most of their actions. This means, for example, that a shape moved in error can be put back in its original location at the push of a button.

Undo operates in a manner which will be familiar to all users of standard Microsoft Office applications.

To undo your last action:

Your last change is reversed.

To redo your last undo:

Your last undo is reversed.

Some notes about using undo in a multi-user environment

This topic describes the undo functionality as it will occur in a multi-user environment (where multiple Corporate Modeler users are accessing the same information using Corporate Exchange).

Diagram information

When a user has a diagram open, that diagram is locked to other users. This means that undo is very simple in this situation, changes can only be made by the user with editing rights, and so undo reverses their own changes only.

Properties

Changes made to the properties of objects or diagrams via the properties dialogs are made on a "per session" basis. This means that a user can undo their own changes in sequence, but that these changes may then be overridden by another user changing the data, AFTER the first user’s changes have been applied.

Note that these changes ONLY apply to in-line edits. As with most diagramming tools, changes made via dialogs cannot be undone except after a save. Changes made to dialogs are effectively undone using the Cancel button.

No Undo

Complicated actions cannot be undone. You will be warned before you perform any action which falls into this category.
