To enable complete flexibility of use, Corporate Modeler 10 allows connectors to be created that are connected to two, one, or no objects.
| e.g. |
If you want to create a disconnected connector of any kind on your diagram, the advised path is to first edit the properties of a connector in the New Objects palette to have the appropriate "line connectivity", and then to drag that connector onto the diagram.
Open the palette object’s properties dialog.
In the Line Ending section, click Connected.
Each ending that is specified as Connected in this dialog will connect to an object when added to the diagram, any ending not specified as Connected will not.
Example:
To create a line which is only connected at its from end, like this:
![]()
You must set the connectivity options in the New Object palette, like this:

Drag the connector from the palette to a shape.
Drop the connector onto the shape.
If the To Ending of the line in the palette was set as Connected:
the line is drawn TO the clicked shape (the from ending is not connected to any shapes).
If the From Ending of the line in the palette was set as Connected:
the line is drawn FROM the clicked shape (the to ending is not connected to any shapes).
Note: the line connects to the side of the object closest to where you click your cursor.
Do not select any objects on the diagram.
Drag the Connector object from the palette to an empty space on the diagram.
Drop the connector.
A connector is placed on the diagram that is not connected to a shape at either end.
Note: the line is placed roughly where you click your cursor.
