If you go to edit the properties of a Data usage association the properties dialog always shows Creates, Reads, Updates and Deletes, even if they are not the correct types for the associated object. For Relationships the types should be Makes, Breaks, Up and Down, while for Attributes they should be Inputs, Uses, Sets and Outputs.
The work-around for this issue is to select the Associated object in the Associated Objects pane, and use the right-click menu to set the appropriate Data usage.
Ref: MG2930
When you are creating a new object, you cannot give that object a Freeze Level, or set it as a Template. This is due to the fact that until the object is actually created the system does not know if you have the correct access rights to set those options.
The work-around for this issue is to set those options once the object has been created.

If the name of your Matrix diagram contains square brackets "[]" you will get stuck in a loop if you try to save the diagram as a CSV file.
Because Excel does not filter out the characters, when the CSV is opened in Excel you get stuck in a loop where you are asked to rename the sheet, but whatever you enter is rejected.
The work-around for this issue is to remove all square brackets characters from the names of your Matrix diagrams, or to open the CSV file in a text editor, such as Notepad, and delete the illegal characters manually.

If you have simulateable diagrams with Elapsed Times set, and then upgrade to the latest version of Corporate Modeler Suite, those values are lost during the upgrading/migration process and all Elapsed Times will have a value of 0.
The work-around for this issue is to re-enter values for all Elapsed Times once you have upgraded.

The Offline Publishing feature in Corporate Publisher can significantly improve performance when publishing particularly large models from Corporate Exchange databases. However, in order to use Offline Publishing, you still actually need to be connected to a Corporate Exchange database - you cannot, as the name suggests, be completely offline.
The feature works by downloading all the required data from your Corporate Exchange database in one operation, and then copying that data to your local computer. Although it publishes from the data copied to your local computer, Corporate Publisher uses the diagram images from the models in your Corporate Exchange database.
If you try to use the Offline Publishing feature when you have no connection to your Corporate Exchange database, an error occurs because Corporate Publisher does not have access to the diagrams.

Matrix will not open matrix diagrams that were created in Corporate Modeler 8e or earlier and which have not been migrated to the latest version. If you do try to open these diagrams, then you will see one of a number of potential error messages.
The solution to this problem is to delete the original matrix and recreate it using the latest version.

If you right-click on a Diagram in Model Explorer and select Diagram > Print, the diagram does not print.
To print diagrams, use the print feature in Corporate Modeler.Ref: PS0034
If you are looking at a diagram in Corporate Modeler, you may well expand the Diagram Tree to see the structure of the model with regards explosions. If you then move to another diagram in a different model, all your expansions in the Diagram Tree will be lost; that is, the Diagram Tree will have returned to the initial state (showing only top-level diagrams) that it is in when you open a new diagram.

If you have Association set to be displayed as additional information on an object, when an association is created or deleted by drag and drop associations, the additional information does not update automatically.
To be able to see the changes reflected in your diagram you must refresh the diagram. To do this, use View > Refresh, or press F5.

If you start Corporate Modeler by going to Start > Programs > Corporate Modeler Suite and hold down the Shift key when you click the Corporate Modeler icon, the application is started in a special mode which ties the logon process to the specific instance of Corporate Modeler.
If you are using this mode, when you try to access any of the online Help within the application, the logon dialog is displayed and you must log on in order to view the Help.
The logon dialog will not be displayed again unless you close the Help window and call the Help again later.
This is not a bug in Corporate Modeler, but is a side-effect of running the program in this special mode.
Ref: DSW0579
If you created layered diagrams in CM9.x, any new Connector Set objects created on these diagrams as part of the migration will not be added to the diagram's layers.
To repair these diagrams: You must manually open any diagrams containing layers (for example, in the Casewise Framework example model, the diagram 'Process Order - Layered for presentation' contains layers), and add the new Connector Set object to your layers as required.

If you try to import a model which contains frozen users, you will find that those users are not imported, while other unfrozen users are.
To work around this issue, make sure that all users are unfrozen when exporting. You can do this by multi-selecting all the users and setting their Freeze Level in one go.

If any of your object links have spaces in them, after upgrading to the latest version you will find they do not work. Instead, you should see an error message stating that the path to the link is either broken or invalid.
To fix this problem, make sure that if your object links contain spaces, you include the entire object link within speech marks, such as: "your link".

If you install a standalone version of Corporate Modeler, which uses the MSDE database, the MSDE database instance will not be removed automatically if you choose to uninstall the software.
To remove the MSDE database you should use Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.
You should also delete the MSDE CASEWISE instance folder from the Microsoft SQL Server directory in Program Files. If you do not delete this instance, the setup of Corporate Modeler 10.3 will fail, should you choose to install it again later.

If you are a Normal User, you can create a Subject Area and create new objects in a model to which you have write access. You can also add objects to the Subject Area you created.
But if you do not have write access to the Subject Area (usually because another user owns it) then when you try to add an object to it, you are unable to do so.
You must have write access to the Subject Area to be able to add objects to it.

Object links on diagrams are achieved using the cwOpenDiagram program, which passes the model filename and diagram id on the command line. e.g. "cwOpenDiagram.exe cwfrex09 1".
This cannot be turned into a URL when the diagram is published because the whole text is not a valid file (it is a command with parameters). HTML does not support parameters on URLs. It also does not support launching programs from non-trusted applications and so we cannot run cwOpenDiagram.exe easily.

In your publication set, if you select the following option on the General tab:
Detail > Object Page Object Ordering - By Object Number

A RequisitePro model can use a multi-select drop-down list for attributes, such as to a requirement. However, if you try to select multiple attributes while associating a requirement to a Corporate Modeler process, the application crashes.
This is a problem caused by RequisitePro, and to fix it you should install the patch Requisitepro_2003.06.14.567.000_HotfixRollup.exe from the Rational website.

This problem means that the sample_point table will only be partially populated with data in the Casewise models supplied with Corporate Modeler Suite. The result of this is that if you look at the properties of the Calendar object called Normal Working Week, you will notice that only one sample point row is present, whereas there should be ten rows.
You can avoid this problem by setting your machine's decimal symbol to be a dot (.) rather than a comma (,) before installing. To do this, select:
Start > Programs > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Regional Options > Customize > Numbers > Decimal symbol
Then install Corporate Modeler Suite in the usual way. After CreateMSDEDatabase has finished, you can set your Decimal symbol back to a comma.

At high simulation speeds, you might see duplicate animation symbols appear on some of your connectors. For example, you might notice the following symptoms at high simulation speeds:
Although these issues suggest that jobs are being duplicated, in fact they are not, and the simulator output will be correct. This purely visual problem occurs because animation cannot show an accurate representation of job flows at high speeds, due to processing limitations and the requirement to display a symbol for a finite amount of time so that the human eye can see it.

If you uninstall CM10.2 (any service release) or CM10.3 (any service release) and also uninstall MSDE, then attempt to install CM10.3 SR2 or later, Microsoft SQL Server Express fails to install. In this case you will see an error message stating that the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client is not there.
As a work around you can instead install the original release of CM10.3, which installs MSDE. After the install has finished run CreateMSDEDatabase.exe from the cm10/bin folder to populate the MSDE database.
