ICT Designing and Planning
The Design and Planning processes within an ICT organization are concerned with providing the overall strategic guidelines for the development and installation of an ICT infrastructure, which satisfies the current and future needs of the business. However, the infrastructure alone cannot deliver quality services, and it is essential that the processes surrounding the technology are also considered by Design and Planning, especially those of Service Management.

ICT Deployment
For the elegance of the ICT infrastructure design to be realized and the quality of the planning to come to fruition, the Deployment process must be managed effectively to transform the designs and plans into ICT solutions. Deployment is a linchpin, without which the ICT infrastructure design is unlikely to be implemented effectively, and Operations may be burdened with high levels of incidents and support requirements, and the achievement of target service levels is likely to be compromised.

ICT Operations Management
An Operations process is required to ensure a stable and secure foundation on which to provide ICT services. The Operations process has a strong technology focus with an emphasis on ‘monitor and control’. It is of an observing, serving and operational nature, ensuring the stability of the ICT infrastructure.

ICT Technical Support
The Technical Support process and functions within an ICT organization ensure that the necessary support and expertise is available to underpin the overall service delivered by ICTIM. Technical Support should maintain an in-depth pool of technical advice and expertise to provide information, guidance and actual resources, for example, for deployment activities and for the support and maintenance of all aspects of the ICT infrastructure.
