Pimkie

Industry: Retail

Introduction

Following an extensive refurbishment of its stores and a refresh of its brand identity, Pimkie, an International “prêt a porter” retailer has initiated an IT restructuring program through an ‘application bricks integration approach’.

In order to carry out this restructure, Pimkie’s IT department required a flexible and
robust software solution to assist in this program and help obtain a better view of
both its current and future IT.

Challenge

The IT restructure required the integration of new bricks software (an open-source software framework for the management of distributed digital assets) combined with

the evolution of some existing bricks and the gradual suppression old technologies.

By adopting the Casewise Corporate Modeler Suite, Pimkie’s short term objective was to establish an IT application and data exchange cartography. The longer term defined objective was that Corporate Modeler should be the sole reference for the whole of Pimkie’s IT infrastructure.

Going forwards, Pimkie, are looking to modeling their entire set of business processes at a high operational level.

Solution

In the first instance, by using Corporate Modeler, Pimkie has been able to model its various IT functions in order to help understand the high stage of the IT restructure.

As a result, the meta-model has been refocused around Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) to highlight the intersection of both functional and technical areas of the company infrastructure

Results

Through the adoption of the Casewise Corporate Modeler Suite, Pimkie has achieved a number of significant results, including:

  • The successful mapping of IT applications, data exchange and the entire IT restructure
  • The launch of an intranet detailing Pimkie’s IT infrastructure
  • Fully functional EAI flows

Going forwards, Pimkie are looking to adopt the overall concept of the project for its overall business operations process.
