Introduction

The majority of Telecom operators today undergo transformation programs on a variety of levels with the aim of moving to a stage where things are accomplished in a faster and more cost effective manner.

Telecom Consulting team of ITS has leveraged the company’s extensive knowledge in the industry business operations, OSS/BSS systems, and infrastructure to build unique enterprise architecture models and transformation programs powered by Casewise solutions.

Challenge

Transformation programs within Telecom operators require complex planning and a holistic approach & view. The planning needs to factor in the full capabilities of the enterprise including people, processes, applications and the underlying infrastructure.

The challenge is to build a holistic integrated enterprise model that captures all these capabilities. The model needs to clearly show their complex relations and interactions to enable the organisation to undertake a transformation program with minimal or zero impact on the business. With normal modelling and analysis approaches, this proved to be very difficult.

Solution

ITS Consulting team selected the Casewise Corporate Modeler Suite to build and maintain all these complex enterprise models for their clients. The solution enables the capturing of all the required information in a single, well connected and integrated repository. Corporate Modeler enabled the team to create semantics, associations, reports and analytics exactly as needed for these models. With the help of Casewise solutions, a discipline of business excellence was revived at many of the clients to support the on-going continuous transformational needs.

Results

Using this new approach, powered by Casewise solutions, ITS Consulting managed to deliver highly successful transformation projects with a number of telecom operators. Working with a business excellence team in one particular operator, the team managed to capture all operator’s business processes as per the eTOM standards, and build a complete Enterprise Model alongside. With this practical, non-academic approach, both teams kicked off initiatives internally around cost efficiencies, process enhancements and customer experience transformations.
