Casewise ® Professional Services Group has now developed an Application Programming Interface (API) in order to expand the Corporate Modeler Suite and transform the tool into an increasingly open and customizable solution.
Application Programming Interface (API’s) is a set of object classes and functions provided by a library to support the building of applications. It is merely the language used by all the Corporate Modeler Suite modules to communicate with the central repository.
The API’s grant the opportunity to improve Corporate Modeler’s features or complete them with user defined modules. Through the introduction of API, users can now read the entire content of the Casewise repository to fully benefit from it as well as write in the repository in order to ease and automate its development and population. Furthermore, users also have the ability to automatically create full graphical representations (diagrams) of the repositories content.
The objective of using API is basically to increase the modeling project ROI. In addition, API offers to reduce the modeling effort and as a result provides powerful population tools to import data or automate the creation of diagrams. API also helps to raise the value of the repository creating customized documents or web sites using consistency engines to control and guarantee the uniformity and quality of the repository.
Amongst the many features of the Corporate Modeler Suites API’s are:
-
The ability to generate reports on the content of a Corporate Modeler model detailing
instances per object type, association type and the number of diagrams per category
-
The ability to perform deep impact analysis and output the results in various format
-
Automatically create associations based on specific criteria
-
Create and update a breadcrumb trail
-
Ease administrator work by producing a report in order to control modeling norms and standards
-
The power to produce an audit trail, monitor track changes and log the file within
Corporate Modeler
-
Customize website content and Word/PDF documents
-
Automate the creation of application cartography diagrams (Application Flows).
